AUTHOR'S EAVESDROPPING THRILLS AUDIO BOOK GIANT
Nov 22nd 2018. Evesham, UK Author Ian Coates announces that Audible, the audio-book publishing giant, has selected the actor Simon Darwen to narrate an unabridged audio version of Ian Coates? thriller Eavesdrop.

Simon Darwen is best known for parts in TV series such as Silent Witness, The Bletchley Circle, and Call The Midwife, as well as various stage performances, voice-overs and many book narrations.

Eavesdrop is a novel that combines the worlds of smuggling, technology and espionage. The author draws on his experience from a career designing high-tech electronics to bring authenticity to a story in which smuggling and industrial espionage leave Customs Investigator James Winter?s career in tatters.  Who arranged his dismissal, and what?s their link to Middle East Assassins? The audio book is just over 8.5 hours long.

Audible has set a release date for the audio book of November 29th 2018, and it is available to pre-order now from audible.co.uk or Amazon at £14.99.

Eavesdrop was originally published in paperback and e-book by the American company Assent Publishing. The author has nearly completed work on a second thriller, Backlash, but says this time he would prefer to find a literary agent first, rather than dealing directly with a publisher

THRILLER WRITER INSPIRED BY BASILDON COUNCIL INITIATIVE
2014 Aylesbury, Bucks Author Ian Coates, born and schooled near Basildon, England,announced today that his debut thriller is to be releasedon Jan 20th by Bad Day Books, an imprint of U.S. publisher AssentPublishing.It will be available in paperback from on-line and high streetbookshops aswell as in e-book formats.

Ian's journey to publication started 35 years ago when he won the Writer of the Year Competition run by Basildon council. It's that trophy, which he has kept prominently on his desk ever since, that encouraged him to complete a full length adult novel. The thriller was written largely in moments grabbed during business trips on planes and in airport lounges.

In Eavesdrop, smuggling and industrial sabotage leave Customs Investigator James Winter's career in tatters. Who arranged his dismissal, and what's their link to Middle East Assassins?

Ian has worked in the high tech electronics industry since graduation, and it was his experience in that field that gave him the inspiration for his thriller.

LOCAL AUTHOR THRILLS AMERICAN PUBLISHER
December 1st 2014. Aylesbury UK Aylesbury-based author Ian Coates announces that he has been signed by U.S. publisher Assent Publishing for his debut thriller, Eavesdrop. "It is never easy to break into the massive American market, so being contracted by a U.S publisher is a fantastic first step for my writing career," Ian said.

Ian has wanted to write a novel since the age of eight. He won a county-wide writing competition when he was fourteen, and in recent years was twice short-listed in international novel-writing competitions. "It's so exciting to see my lifelong ambition finally coming to fruition after all these years," Ian said.

The author's experience from a career designing radio equipment inspired him to write a tale in which smuggling, industrial sabotage, and high-tech spies leave customs investigator James Winter's career in tatters. Who arranged his dismissal, and what's their link to Middle East assassins?

Assent Publishing intends to release Eavesdrop under its suspense and thriller imprint, Bad Day Books, early next year. It will be available in paperback and e-book formats in the U.K. as well as America.
